Giant Castle in Spain Made from Recycled Milk Cartons Breaks Guinness Book of Records
By Sheilamarie Nellis
In Grenada, Spain, children have been collecting recycled milk cartons for the project of building the largest structure ever made out of recycled materials. The aim was to break the current record in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest structure ever built using recycled materials. The event was sponsored by Resur Granada, a waste treatment company, along with the local council. School children in Grenada were encouraged to collect empty milk cartons -- 50,000 altogether -- in a massive recycling campaign. The structure was designed by students Granada's Architectural College, Facultad de Arquitectura de Grenada, and consists of 50,000 recycled milk cartons, glued and stacked to make a rambling structure in the Sciences Park of Grenada. It includes a tower 29 meters long, 14.07 meters wide, and 7 meters high. The children of Grenada celebrate with pride their castle made with their help. The castle has an open roof and a fun maze to explore. For a link to photos of the impressive structure, visit my webpage cited below. Getting into the Guinness Book of World Records is no easy feat! In Grenada a whole community pulled together to do just that. I wonder what records we could break if communities all over the world worked to find new ways to deal with our waste products.

After I reviewed your intel I wondered if someone could think up a project to use all of the disposable diapers dumped into the garbages of the world. Now, that would be a worthwhile project too. 5*s intel, Sheilamarie.

Now that's a thought, Laraine! It would take some major ingenuity to deal with that problem. It's great to see some young families using cloth diapers these days. They make some pretty nice diaper covers now, too. Thanks for your response!
OK I found the link in your lens (nice lens, by the way). Pretty huge alright.
